The Ireland Oil and Gas 2013 Summit held in Dublin closed September 11 after two days of in-depth discussion of the oil and gas industry.

Attendees at the kick off of what’s planned as an annual event included Fergus O’Dowd TD, Minister of State, Dept of Communications, Energy & Natural Resources and Environment.

Also attending was Susan Morrice, Chairperson of Belize Natural Energy (BNE).

Morrice, who chaired the 2013 Summit, spoke about the ‘Holistic Business Model’ application — which has led to the remarkable success story of BNE,  which many governments and companies around the world are seeking to replicate.

From their website, “This Summit comes at an exciting time for the regions’ industry, with the announcement that oil with commercial potential has been found offshore, as well as recent new discoveries onshore.”

The Irish Oil and Gas 2013 Summit was the first country-wide oil and gas summit to be held of its kind.
