The Western Energy Alliance started out in 1974 as the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States.
It’s a non-profit trade association representing more than 400 companies engaged in all aspects of exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the Western part of the United States.
It says 98% of all federal wells are in just seven states: California, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
Here’s its message about the oil and gas industry’s use and protection of water resources.
There’s another video from the Western Energy Alliance on land use, and a couple more are planned on other environmental topics.
