Foster Wheeler AG won a contract from Saudi Aramco for front-end engineering design of a 300,000 bpd expansion of production capacity at the Khurais complex of oil fields, 90 miles southeast of Riyadh.
The project focus is to increase capacity at the Khurais Central Processing Facilities, as well as enhance production from Jifan and Mazalij through installation of a satellite gas-oil separation plant.
Current capacity from the Khurais, Abu Jifan, and Mazalij fields is 1.2m bpd of Arabian Light crude.
Khurais facilities now can handle 70,000 bod of condensate and 320 MM scfd of natural gas produced in association with oil.
Along with the engineering work, subsidiaries of Foster Wheeler’s Global Engineering & Construction Group will manage equipment and material specifications, development of a cost estimate, and procurement assistance.
Scheduled completion of the project is 2Q 2014.
