The U.S. rig count last week for oil and natural gas hit the highest level in nearly two months.
The oil rig count went up 10 to 1,372 and gas count by two to 378, Baker Hughes said.
U.S. stockpiles of natural gas grew by 101 billion cubic feet last week to 3.487 trillion.
Oil production increased by 7,000 barrels a day to 7.78 million for the week ended September 27, according to the EIA.
A report in the Motley Fool said Eagle Ford (Texas) oil production was up 60% from a year ago to more than 621,000 barrels per day.
ConocoPhillips said it pumped 121,000 barrels per day from Eagle Ford during the second quarter, about double it production over last year.
EOG, the biggest Eagle Ford producer, pumped 173,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day during the prior quarter.
Overall, the U.S. oil and gas rig count has fallen by seven this year, with producers cutting back on gas production.
