The UK oil and gas industry has 16% more job vacancies now than three years ago, a new study by CareerBuilder.co.uk found.

“The oil and gas industry has continued to add jobs through multiple recessions, as other industries struggled to keep their businesses open and their staffs intact,” said Tony Roy, president of CareerBuilder EMEA.

Managers in the energy sector now enjoy median hourly earnings of £26.92 ($43.31, €32.27).

About 450,000 people are employed in  UK oil and gas industry, either directly or indirectly, according to government figures.
