The Kuwait National Petroleum Co. has released a contract to AMEC to provide project engineering and management services for Kuwait’s Mina Al Ahmadi, Mina Abdullah, and Shuaiba refineries.

The 5-year call-off contract, which has an optional 1-year extension, is worth as much as $258m.

Under the contract, AMEC will be responsible for services including feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, project management consultancy services, and training of Kuwaiti engineers, according to AMEC.

This latest contract for the 270,000-b/d Mina Abdullah, 466,000-b/d Mina Al Ahmadi, and 200,000-b/d Shuaiba refineries follows KNPC’s plans to increase the country’s refining capacity under Kuwait’s Clean Fuels Project.
