A man caught bringing methamphetamine from Washington State to the Bakken oil fields in Eastern Montana pleaded guilty to federal drug charges, the Missoulian reported Wednesday.

Lloyd Leon Westervelt, 37, was charged with possessing meth with intent to distribute.

When Westervelt was arrested in March 2013, police seized 223 grams of meth from his vehicle.

A pistol and other firearms were also found in the vehicle, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Thaggard said.

Kera Dawn Evans was a passenger in the vehicle.

She pleaded guilty to possession charges and is awaiting sentencing.

U.S. District Judge Susan Watters set Westervelt’s sentencing for July 23.

He faces up to 20 years in prison and a possible $1 million fine.
