Samsung Engineering has been awarded a contract by ENI for Zubair oilfield development in Iraq, the Korean company said.
The value for the North New de-gassing station facility contract is $840 million.
Samsung will carry out engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning on a lump-sum turnkey basis to build an oil and gas separation plant.
The plant located in the Basrah region of Iraq, south-west of Baghdad is estimated to have a capacity of 200,000 bpd.
Expected completion date of the project is 2016.
Eni holds 32.8% of the development, and is the operator. Occidental Petroleum holds 23.4%, Korea Gas holds 18.8%, and Iraq’s state-run Missan Oil holds 25%.
