Gastar Exploration announced today that a pipeline rupture and fire has halted shale production in Marshall County, West Virginia.
The facility, operated by Williams Partners, has been shut-in since early Saturday morning due to the rupture.
Production from the facility accounts for roughly 65% of Gastar’s average daily production.
The company is hoping to resume normal operations as early as Tuesday night.
The incident took place on a Williams 12-inch gas pipeline a few miles north of Gastar operated properties in Marshall County.
Williams is currently investigating the scope of damage.
