The latest deepwater bidding round for Trinidad and Tobago has a lackluster turnout as four of the six blocks did not receive any bids, while the other two blocks received a total of three bids between them.

BHP Billiton and the BG Group submitted joint bids  for Trinidad and Tobago Deep Atlantic Area 3 and 7 (TTDAA(3) and TTDAA(7)).

Repsol finished the bidding with a submission for Block TTDAA(3).

The bidding round was open from August 17, 2013 to March 28, 2014.

The winning bidders will be expected to negotiate a PSCs with the island’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine said “This will likely be our last deepwater bid round for 2014 and 2015.”
