S-Oil Corp has stated about 20,000 barrels of crude oil has leaked from a storage tank at its Onsan Ulsan refinery at Ulsan, South Korea

The company added that no oil had leaked into the sea, and refinery operations were not affected by the leak.

S-Oil is South Korea’s third-largest refiner.

The leak occurred on Friday in the tank holding 570,000 bbl of crude.

The company said the leak was caused by a breakdown of a blending axis in the tank, the company is still investigating the exact amount of leaked oil.

S-Oil’s largest shareholder is Aramco Overseas Co B.V., a unit of Saudi Arabian Oil Company, with a 35 percent stake.
