Sudanese militants killed two security staff and kidnapped three oil workers in an attack on an oil field in the county’s West Kordofan state, army spokesman Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa’ad said on Saturday.

A Chinese, an Algerian and a Sudanese worker were taken during the assault.

According to Al-Sawarmi, security forces are still tracing the perpetrators.

West Kordofan is the primary oil-producing state in Sudan.

The State has faced numerous attacks by armed militants attempting to disrupt production.

The Justice and Equality Movement, the main rebel group active in the area, denied involvement in this incident.
