Fourteen people were killed and 20 injured in an explosion and fire at a gas pipeline in Andhra Pradesh, India, on Friday.
The pipeline is operated by state-owned energy company GAIL.
The incident occurred in the village of Nagaram.
Flames engulfed building, according to eyewitness accounts.
“The situation is very bad … 14 people were burnt alive and 20 have been admitted to hospital with injuries,” said Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, state finance minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Ramakrishnudu said the fire had been brought under control.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said victims and relatives would receive compensation for the accident.
