SapuraKencana announced Monday it has made four significant discoveries of non-associated natural gas in the offshore Sarawak SK408 PSC area.
SK408 Block is located around 75 miles offshore Sarawak Central Luconia Gas Province.
In a statement, the company said the four-well discovery, from the first four exploration wells, was within the primary target of the Late Miocene Carbonate reservoirs.
The first well, Teja-1, found 219 meters of gross column and the Gorek-1 found a gross column of 235 meters.
The third well, Legundi-1, found a 139 meter gross gas column, and the fourth well, Larak-1, found 333 meters, according to the company.
SapuraKencana is the operator with a 40 percent interest, along with Petronas-Carigali and Sarawak Shell, who both hold 30 percent interests.
