Aker Oilfield Services said Total has terminated a $250 million, two-year contract for the Skandi Aker for work in Angola.
The Skandi Aker, a well intervention vessel, started the work for Total in September 2013.
The value of the remaining contract period is about $150 million and will be removed from the order backlog.
The vessel’s capacity utilization in 2014 has been 37 percent, after operations were halted at the end of March for maintenance and repairs.
Aker Solutions, Aker Oilfield Services’ parent company, will present more information on July 17, when financial results for the second quarter are released.
