Oslo-listed Archer announced it has secured an extension of its platform drilling services contract with ConocoPhillips for the Greater Ekofisk Area project offshore Norway.

Archer will continue working at the field until 2020, after ConocoPhillips exercised an option to extend the existing contract.

The contract was due to expire in 2015.

The value of the contract extension has not been disclosed.

Archer is majority owned by  Seadrill, and currently operates drilling work on all the Greater Ekofisk platforms.
