Centrica Energy Norway’s wildcat well in the Ula oil field has come up dry, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said Wednesday.
The well was drilled in the Butch discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.
Centrica, a subsidiary of Britain’s Centrica plc, said the well will be classified as dry and be permanently plugged and abandoned.
Centrica said it will continue developing the Butch discovery.
The company currently has two other Butch licenses listed as active on its website.
