Former CEO of UK-based BG Group Sir Frank Chapman took the reigns Friday as Golar LNG’s new chairman.
Golar LNG is the LNG arm of Bermuda-based Seadrill.
Chapman officially stepped down as CEO of BG in 2012 but stayed on until June 2013 to oversee the transition to his replacement Chris Finlayson.
He currently serves as a non-executive director and chairman of the safety and ethics committee at Rolls Royce.
Chapman has worked in the oil and gas industry for 40 years including a 12 year stint as CEO of BG Group.
He was knighted in the 2011 Queen’s Birthday Honors List for services to the oil and gas industries.
Golar is a liquefied natural gas shipping company based in London and registered in Bermuda.
The company operates a fleet of thirteen vessels.
