A new report by social networking site LinkedIn found that ten energy companies ranked among the top 100 most sought after work places in the world by job seekers.

Major players such as ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell and Baker Hughes all made it into the top 50 most desirable companies to work for.

Royal Dutch Shell took the highest spot out of all the energy companies, ranking twelfth.

BP took the fifteenth spot and Chevron rounded out the top 20.

ExxonMobil took the thirty fourth spot with France’s Total coming in right behind it at 35.

Other companies who made the list include Houston-based companies ConocoPhillip, Schlumberger and Baker Hughes along with UK-based Weatherford International and Norway’s Statoil.

Tech companies took the five top spots with Google coming in at number one.

LinkedIn excluded itself from the results.

LinkedIn ranked the companies based on the number of interactions between users and a company’s LinkedIn page. The site also surveyed thousands of users to gauge their familiarity with companies.
