Calgary-based junior Toro Oil & Gas has repaired an Alberta gas well that leaked on Saturday.
The leak was reported around 6:30 p.m. on November 22 at a well located about one mile southwest of Airdrie, Alberta.
Residences near the well were evacuated as a precautionary measure as City of Airdrie firefighters and emergency officials secured the area.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Air monitoring equipment set up at the scene during the leak detected very low levels of sour gas, Toro said.
Toro worked with the Alberta Energy Regulator to stop the leak.
The well has been repaired and there have been no further gas releases.
The company has launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
