Aker Solutions won a hook-up and commissioning contract Monday for Statoil’s Mariner field worth about $188 million.
The work will be managed by Aker’s UK MMO unit through an integrated construction and completions organization with South Korea’s Daewoo and Norway’s Statoil.
The Mariner field is located at the East Shetland Platform in the UK North Sea, 93 miles east of the Shetland Isles.
The field is expected to start production in 2017.
At the peak of the offshore phase, the contract will secure as many as 950 jobs in the UK.
In June, Norway-based Aker Solutions won a five year maintenance and modifications services contract for the Mariner field.
Separately, Aker Solutions’ Norwegian MMO unit secured a two year contract extension worth $48.71 million for asset integrity management work at 11 offshore and three onshore locations in Norway.
The extension is part of a four year contract awarded by Statoil in October 2010.
