Jupiter Energy said last Friday it spudded well 19 at the East Akkar field in Kazakhstan.
The well is located between the J-51 and J-52 wells at Block 31.
Both J-51 and J-52 have produced oil under trial production licenses.
If successful, well 19 will be immediately placed onto trial production following completion.
Australia-based Jupiter expects it will take about 60 days for the well to reach target depth.
The spudding of well 19 fulfills all of the company’s 2014 work commitments under the Block 31 licence contract for East Akkar.
