Australia-based Beach Energy made a wet gas discovery Tuesday at the Ralgnal-1 exploration well in the South Australian Cooper Basin license PRL 130.
Preliminary evaluation of well logs indicates a gross interval in the Patchawarra Formation between 7,805 and 9,144 feet with net pay of 21.6 feet, and a gross interval in the Tirrawarra Formation between 9,144 and 9,324 feet with net pay of 9.8 feet.
A Drill Stem Test was performed over the Patchawarra Formation with gas flowing to surface at a rate of 5.88 million standard cubic feet per day.
Test flow rates for condensate are currently under review.
The well will be cased and suspended as a new discovery, with a cased hole test proposed prior to completion of the well.
Beach Energy holds a 50 percent operating stake in the well.
Australia-based Drillsearch Energy holds the remaining 50 percent stake.
