Three workers from one family were killed Tuesday after an oil rig exploded in West Texas.

The blast happened Tuesday morning at a well owned by Texas-based Parsley Energy near Rankin, about 40 miles south of Midland.

The men were identified as  Arturo Martinez Sr., Arturo Martinez Jr., and Rojelio Salgado.

They were working for Mason Well Service, a pulling unit company contracted by Parsley Energy.

Another worker at the site suffered some injuries, Upton County Sheriff’s Office investigator Dusty Kilgore said.

“We are fully assisting all authorities with their investigations. Our thoughts are with the families of those involved,” Parsley said.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
