Police are searching for a former oil supply firm worker after he gunned down the manager at a Houston supply company on Tuesday and stole a truck after losing his job.
The Houston Police Department said Rodney Jackson, 49, shot an unnamed manager at Val-Fit Inc, where Jackson had worked for about a year before being laid of on Tuesday, ABC News 7 said.
According to witnesses, Jackson pulled out his weapon after being laid off around lunchtime.
“There were multiple witnesses, multiple people around. I don’t want to get into who he was pointing the gun at,” the Houston Police Department told ABC News 7.
Witnesses said Jackson fired multiple rounds at the manager and then stole a company owned 2012 Ford flatbed F-350 decorated with the firm’s emblems.
Jackson is 6 feet tall and weighs about 300 pounds.
He was last seen in the stolen pickup truck with license plate BN81425.
