A new video published by Oil and Gas 360 gives viewers a first hand look at the cutting edge science behind the Bakken boom.

The video gives an inside view of the advanced imaging technology and state-of-the art techniques engineers and scientists use to analyze  samples from the most famous shale play in the United States.

Whiting’s team of high tech wildcatters take viewers through the process of characterizing reservoirs and explain how they use electron microscopes and specialized computer software to gather information about pay columns.

Colorado-based Whiting Petroleum is the largest producer in North Dakota and is the confirmed record holder for the top three producing wells in the Three Forks area of the Williston Basin as well as the top producing Bakken well.
