Two offshore workers who were kidnapped off the coast of Nigeria were released on Friday after a month in captivity.
The crew members were abducted while on board the Bourbon Liberty 251 tug and supply vessel off the coast of Nigeria on February 23.
The released workers are “in good health,” Bourbon said.
France-based Bourbon did not disclose if a ransom had been paid or if the culprits had been identified or apprehended.
“This news comes as a great relief to all Bourbon employees, who share the joy of the families,” Bourbon said.
Bourbon, the operator of the vessel, declined to disclose further details.
According to a statement issued by Bourbon at the time of the incident, the two crew members are of Nigerian and Russian nationalities.
There were ten other crew members aboard the vessel when the abduction occurred.
Those crew members were not harmed and were safely taken back to Onne port after the incident.
