An Australian man died earlier this week while working at an oil well site in Israel.
A spokesperson for Afek Oil and Gas told the Jerusalem Post that an Australian national working at the Ness-2 site in Golan Heights died on Sunday.
The man, who was employed by Viking Services, was injured Sunday morning while moving a mobile well servicing rig, ABC said.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the man was injured while disassembling well test equipment and later died from his injuries.
The man’s name has not been released but he was reportedly in his late 50s.
A Viking Services spokesperson told ABC that a full investigation into the accident will be undertaken.
Officials from Viking were expected to arrive in Israel on Monday to begin the investigation, ABC added.
