Chevron Appalachia has appointed Stacey Olson as its new president.

According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, Olson will take over for former president Nigel Hearne who will not serve as deputy managing director at Chevron’s Australian unit.

The appointment was effective June 15.

As president of the Chevron arm Olson will be responsible for exploration and development of natural gas assets in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.

Olson joined Chevron in 1989 and has served in various positions for the company around the globe.

Olson most recently served as general manager of Projects and Future Growth at Chevron UK.

Prior to her most recent appointment, Olson also served as vice president of heavy oil operation at Chevron’s IndoAsia business unit and general manager of asset development for the Chevron Asia South business unit, the Pittsburgh Business Times said.

“Everywhere we work, we strive to build lasting relationships to create prosperity now and for decades to come,” Olson told the paper.
