One worker was killed and several others were injured on Saturday after a leak at a Saudi Aramco pipeline.
Saudi Aramco confirmed in a social media post that one contractor was killed and three others were injured following a “pipeline incident.”
The state-owned company added that two of the injured workers have been discharged from the hospital.
The third injured worker was in stable condition as of Saturday morning.
Saudi Aramco said it responded to an oil pipeline leak incident on Saturday near its Abqaiq facility.
According to UPI, the leak occurred 37 miles southwest of Saudi Aramco’s Dharan compound.
Saudi Aramco told the Kuwait News Agency that the oil release was “limited” and was contained by emergency crews on Saturday.
Details about the size of the spill have not been disclosed.
The company added that it is currently investigating the cause of the leak.
